Patient: Yeah.
Dr. Ara Deukmedjian: Since you had a fall and you hurt your back.
Patient: Yes.
Dr. Ara Deukmedjian: And you’ve had lots of treatments for your back elsewhere up in Michigan. Did they work for you?
Patient: No, it was just very temporary. Just a very short time, if at all.
Dr. Ara Deukmedjian: Can you tell us about those treatments? What kind of treatments did you have and did they work for you?
Patient: It started out, of course, they make you do physical therapy. Then I had steroid injections.
Dr. Ara Deukmedjian: Did those work?
Patient: No. I had a rhizotomy. I’ve had laser spine surgery at a different facility. That didn’t work.
Dr. Ara Deukmedjian: It didn’t work because you had it done at Laser Spine Institute, which is now out of business. But they were doing microdiscectomy — they were drilling holes in the spine. And they were doing the same thing other doctors do. And that doesn’t work for back pain.
Patient: Right. I also just recently in May had a spinal stimulator put in. Since I had that put in, I have had just torturous pain in my sciatic area that goes all the way down to my foot, to where I couldn’t even drive. And today I have no pain. I have no pain.
