Coccydynia
Otherwise known as tailbone pain, this condition is more common in women than it is in men and is typically caused by a traumatic injury, such as a backwards fall or childbirth. Unlike pain caused by herniations or facet joints in the lower back, coccydynia is typically not accompanied by radiculopathy or nerve pain.
Treatments are typically non-surgical and involve a combination of physical therapy, steroid injections, and occasionally radio-frequency ablation/rhizotomy to disable pain signals from being registered by the brain.
If you suffer from Coccydynia, Deuk Spine Institute is here to help. Our patient services team is standing by to answer any questions you have and help you book an appointment. Give us a call at (321) 255-6670 or fill out the form below and get started towards living a pain-free life!
