Niagara Falls Patient Heals Neck Pain with DLDR
Summary
A patient from Niagara Falls, New York, traveled to Deuk Spine Institute in Melbourne, Florida after years of being underdiagnosed for two cervical herniated discs at C4-5 and C5-6 that were causing limited range of motion in his right hand and weakness and drooping in his left leg. After researching spine surgeons and concluding that Dr. Ara Deukmedjian offered the most advanced and ethical approach to cervical spine care, he underwent the Deuk Laser Disc Repair® through a four-millimeter incision at the front of the neck. Less than 24 hours after surgery, he reported immediate improvement in hand mobility and leg strength, required no narcotics or pain medication, needed no hospital stay, and had no metal hardware or synthetic implants placed in his body.

Dr. Ara Deukmedjian: I'm here with a patient from Niagara Falls, here at Deuk Spine in Melbourne, Florida. You just had surgery yesterday done for two herniated discs in your neck. How are you feeling today?
Patient: I'm feeling really good. I've already seen improvement in my condition. One being range of motion in my right hand, where most of the herniation was at. And then the other one is my left leg would droop, and now it's in front of me straight with no weakness or drooping. Those things really bothered me and I didn't get any answers for them. And then when the MRI was done — because I don't feel I was misdiagnosed, I was underdiagnosed — it wasn't until I became adamant with my doctors for answers, when I became unafraid to find out what was going on with me, that I got answers. And then it all made sense to me. And then I did my due diligence. After seeing the archaic hardware that other doctors put in people, I did research, came to the conclusion that Dr. Deuk was the finest, and that's what brought me here.
Dr. Ara Deukmedjian: I appreciate that. And you're referring to the Deuk Laser Disc Repair. We went in through the front of your neck — a four-millimeter tiny incision. We used the laser to clean out what was a lot of densely scarred and calcified herniation in your neck at C4-5 and C5-6. And here you are less than 24 hours after your surgery — no hospital.
Patient: No — not only no hospital, no narcotics, no drugs, no Motrin, no —
Dr. Ara Deukmedjian: Nothing.
Patient: Nothing. No drugs, just pain-free surgery.
Dr. Ara Deukmedjian: Yes, and no hardware.
Patient: No metal, no hardware, and nothing unnatural put in your body.
Dr. Ara Deukmedjian: Nothing. We didn't even do any blood transfusion either.
Patient: Correct, that's right.
Dr. Ara Deukmedjian: We never do that.
Patient: Right, and that was predicated upon these procedures being bloodless. Non-blood managed care is of the highest quality. And Dr. Deuk is a physician of the highest medical ethical background in that he's careful in his surgeries so that people don't need blood products or even cadaver discs or synthetic discs with his techniques. And that's why I came here, period.
Dr. Ara Deukmedjian: Thank you. I was trained in those old techniques — the cadaver bones, the fusions, the cages. And for many years, that's what I did because that's all I knew. I didn't know any better. And I was enlightened when I found the Koreans were doing endoscopic cervical surgery — the first. I was trained by Dr. Sangho Lee himself, who is the pioneer of endoscopic cervical surgery in South Korea, and Dr. Gun Choi. This was 17 years ago now. And I've taken what they taught me and I've built on it and made it a little bit better. And that's why we're able to get the results we're able to get.
Dr. Ara Deukmedjian: Is there anything else you want to tell your fans out there watching your video?
Patient: Yes — if you have thoracic, lumbar, or cervical problems, you don't need to walk here. You need to run here.
Dr. Ara Deukmedjian: Well, thank you so much. It's been a pleasure. Safe travels going home.
Patient: Yes, we will. And it's a great pleasure to take care of you.
Dr. Ara Deukmedjian: Thank you, Dr. Deuk. Appreciate it.
