The healthcare sector is rapidly expanding as medical professionals look for more efficient, all-encompassing, and high-quality options to fill the gap in the healthcare system. Fortunately, digital technology is making it easier for healthcare professionals to communicate with their patients, breaking down the barriers that can impede a patient’s access to medical care. One of such innovations is Amazon Care.

Amazon Care has uniquely positioned itself as a special hybrid care model which combines the best of virtual and in-person services. This combination allows patients to receive a wider range of care, from on-demand primary care to chronic pain management–all in the comfort of their homes.

This article provides a thorough Amazon Care Insurance Review, covering how it works, doctors that accept it, and the various treatments offered.

What is Amazon Care?

Amazon Care is a new approach to in-person care. Launched in September 2019, it is designed to provide customers with the greatest patient-centric healthcare whenever they need it. It combines the best of in-person and virtual care to provide quick, complete, and exceptional healthcare solutions.

While Amazon Care was initially introduced as a workplace benefit for its Seattle-based Amazon employees and their families, it is now available across the country, and this year, in-person medical services will be made available in more than 20 additional cities.

What is Care Medical?

To help with your primary care and urgent care needs, Amazon works with Care Medical, a dedicated and exclusive third-party medical group that provides health services through the Amazon Care app.

Care Medical is a team of clinicians that support you across your healthcare journey. They promote health and wellness through disease prevention and help manage long-term medical conditions. Care Teams are made up of clinicians with family medicine backgrounds who are focused on building a relationship with you to provide the care you need and understand your health goals.

How Does Amazon Care Work?

Amazon Care offerings serve to bring care to the patient, making it easier for them to schedule medical care as needed. The process consists of two components, which are:

  • Virtual care: With the help of digital tools, patients and doctors can communicate in real-time using the Amazon Care app. Here, patients interact with doctors to find out the treatments they might need. This may include following up after an in-person appointment, monitoring vitals after surgery, or answering any inquiries about their diagnosis, condition, or treatment plan.
  • In-person care: In-person care offers a number of benefits that you may not get with virtual care and may make particular medical exams more thorough. For this reason, the Amazon Care app allows patients to receive care from medical professionals, such as blood draws, testing, and other routine procedures that require the physical presence of a nurse or doctor. Additionally, doctors may require an in-person visit before offering telehealth as an option for a follow-up for a more hands-on approach to understanding your healthcare needs.

The Amazon Care App is where users begin every interaction, whether it be virtual or in-person. They are then matched with a medical care team that best suits their individual medical requirements across their healthcare journey through Care Medical. Users are prompted with several options that direct them to the appropriate provider of service, via video or chat, on-demand, or by appointment.

What Types of Medical Care Does Care Medical Provide?

Amazon Care offers primary and urgent care services to adults. Through their services, the clinicians evaluate you and provide you with care based on their in-depth knowledge. • Require lifestyle and wellness assistance
