What To Expect at Deuk Spine

During your first appointment at Deuk Spine Institute, you’ll be greeted by our front office staff. Please arrive to your first appointment 30 minutes early. That will give you plenty of time to get checked in. Plan to spend at least 2 hours with our team.
Bring the following with you to your appointment:
- New patient packet (completed before your arrival)
- Your insurance card
- A photo ID
- Any MRIs, x-rays, discs and any other diagnostic reports you may have
Make yourself comfortable and fill out any additional forms we may require at your own pace.
Meet Your Patient Navigator
You’ll be escorted to an exam room by your Patient Navigator. This highly trained medical assistant is experienced in helping patients navigate HIPPA regulations, medical records, scheduling, procedures, and future appointments. Consider your Patient Navigator your own personal assistant.
Your Patient Navigator will take your vitals and record your pain level. During this brief exam, your Patient Navigator will also guide you through an in-depth questionnaire that will help the physicians at Deuk Spine Institute familiarize themselves with your condition.
Experience A Thorough, Careful Exam
During your exam with a Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner or Physician, your strength, balance and coordination will be tested. You’ll be invited to share your concerns, your physical limitations and the ways that pain impacts your lifestyle. The physician may order additional tests or diagnostic procedures. This allows us to get a better understanding of where your pain is coming from.
We approach each patient’s plan of care individually. There’s no one size fits all method for treating chronic back pain, chronic neck pain, or other related spinal issues.
Schedule Treatments If Necessary
If your treatment plan involves a surgery or procedure, your Patient Navigator will introduce you to our Surgery and Procedure Coordinator team. We understand that this is a big step and our staff will take all the time necessary to answer your questions, share pre and post-operative instructions, and help you schedule all appointments needed to clear you for your procedure.
